SONIC INTERVENTIONS were a sensation on the XJAZZ! FESTIVAL 2023… With every beat, every sound, and every move, SONIC INTERVENTIONS deliver so much more than just music. The atmosphere they cultivate is electric and ultimately free.” – XJAZZ Berlin

Jazz collectives. Known for inclusive live spectacles, in which moments of meditation and trance rise into heavy grooves, the band
merges poetry and dance inspired by the cosmos and the ancestors.

Sera Kalo’s eX.II
- Experimental jazz, poetry, neo-soul, ethereal groove
“…Sera Kalo’s eX.II, whose ultra-eclectic, multidirectionally time-travelling take on the jazz quartet has the bearings of something big in the making…” – 15questions.net
With the debut live performance of Sera Kalo’s eX.II at the 2024 XJAZZ FESTIVAL opening for visionaire, saxophonist & flutist Shabaka Hutchings, Sera Kalo’s eX.II sent shockwaves across the music scene as they fused the vintage sound of 70’s jazz poetry with hypnotic electronic and abstract soundscapes and groove.
Sera Kalo’s eX.II embarked on a transformative journey with the piece »AFENI, » a heartfelt homage to Afeni Shakur—luminary activist, feminist, and mother to hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. This composition is part of the XJAZZ-Entangled Grounds compilation album.
In a captivating live analogue studio performance, characterized by improvisation, profound lyricism, and remarkable synergy, eX.II’s evolving soundscapes showcase powerful genre-fluidity that transports listeners into realms of deep spiritual transformation and boundless energy release. eX.II recorded their debut album in July 2024 at Brewery Studios (Berlin) and most recently Sera received the 2024 Sony Music & Music B Women Germany Female Producer Prize.
